About the Owner

Anand Poojary came to the U.S. to hone his craft in one of the best Indian restaurants in New York City. When the time was right, he brought his skills and tastes for his native South Indian cuisine to life by opening Woodlands. Consistently recommended in the Washingtonian magazine and Washington Post, Woodlands is a destination for traditional South Indian Cuisine.

After the popularity within the Indian community of Woodlands pure vegetarian cuisine, Anand brings to Jewel of India the same richness and quality to a main-stream audience with a more eclectic multi-cuisine approach.
